Sundays@Studio is a monthly curated interview series with the leading visual artists. It’s a platform for artists to gain more visibility and voice behind the work and a way to document the lives of the contemporary artists. Sundays@Studio aims to deconstruct the myth of the “starving artist” and empower and celebrate entrepreneurship in the arts.

This series was inspired by many candid conversations that took place in the artists’ studios. Every artist has a unique story and journey behind their work. Step into the artist studios and gain first-hand insights on what it takes to be a successful artist and how to cultivate your career as a legendary artist.

    In this Sundays@Studio series, Nina Kong-Surtees, chats with Tootsie Warhol, a NY-based artist and activist whose career started as an attorney specializing in human rights.

    Tootsie shares how he transitioned his career from an attorney to an artist, which led to his performances as a satire of the former U.S. president, most notably, MAKING THE BIENNIAL GREAT AGAIN! (The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, 2019). In his performances, Tootsie channels his experience of meeting the former president in 2017.
